ABOUT OUR EVENT
Established in 2012 by Domingo Toledo in honor of his mother, a cancer survivor, Border Fashion Week (BFW) is an annual cultural celebration in Ambos Nogales, uniting Arizona and Sonora through fashion. Featuring runway shows, exhibitions, workshops, and installations inspired by the region's landscapes and cultures, BFW highlights a bicultural fashion show with innovative designs merging American and Mexican influences. Local artists and vendors contribute to a vibrant bazaar, showcasing community craftsmanship. BFW promotes inclusivity with accessible venues and workshops on fashion design, sustainability, and cultural heritage.
Every year, a percentage of the event proceeds supports breast cancer associations, reflecting BFW's commitment to social causes. Advocating for social change and cross-border cooperation through fashion, BFW aims to enhance community unity and cultural appreciation in the border region.
VISION
To become a transformative platform that redefines the border narrative through the universal language of fashion, celebrating and uniting American and Mexican cultures while empowering local talent and fostering cross-border collaboration and social change.
MISSION
To enrich civic life by showcasing the dynamic fusion of American and Mexican cultures in contemporary fashion. Our objective is to empower designers to redefine borderland fashion, foster inclusivity through accessible events and educational workshops on design, sustainability, and cultural heritage, and showcase collaborative art installations that reflect community values.
OBJETIVE
Border Fashion Week (BFW) aims to attract tourists to the border region by changing the border narrative, promote cross-border cooperation, advocate for social and political change, and stimulate the local economy, thereby enhancing community connectivity and empowerment through innovative designs and community engagement.
